Biografia

Nasceu em Lisboa em 1952.
Desde sempre desenhou e pintou.
Cursou na Escola António Arroio.
Durante 12 anos trabalhou em artes gráficas, sem no entanto deixar as artes plásticas.
Trabalha no seu atelier (Artezen) desde 1980.
Até 1992 teve uma grande actividade na área da publicidade e na criação gráfica (concepção de logótipos e embalagens) e na ilustração na qual conta com duas dezenas de livros publicados.
Desde então tem-se dedicado exclusivamente à pintura e escultura.
Expõe desde 1981.
Em 1993, é um dos fundadores do Grupo Artitude o qual se extinguiu em 1996.
Fez parte do júri do IX Salão Nacional de Caricatura/VI Festival de Humor Oeiras/95 e do 1º Concurso Damaia Encontro com os seus Pintores, este em conjunto com Artur Bual em 1995.
Foi membro da ANAP (Associação Nacional de Artistas Plásticos) durante seis anos.
Em 1997 é co-fundador da Arcoartis, Associação de Artistas Plásticos da Damaia, sendo presidente da mesma durante oito anos e distinguido como membro Honorário em 2005.
Começou em 1996 e terminou em 1999 as pinturas Sacras na igreja de Nª. Sra. do Cabo de Linda-a-Velha sendo estas, a sua maior obra e considerada o maior conjunto de Arte Sacra em pintura mural e a óleo sobre tela, do século XX em Portugal. Foram inauguradas pelo Ministro da Administração Interna Dr. Jorge Coelho, pelo o Presidente da C. Municipal de Oeiras Dr. Isaltino Morais e pelo Bispo Auxiliar de Lisboa, D. Tomás, estiveram também presentes muitas outras individualidades.
Entre 1999 e 2000 executa as pinturas murais na igreja de S. Miguel em Queijas, também pinturas de grandes dimensões, inauguradas pelo Presidente da C. Municipal de Oeiras Dr. Isaltino Morais.
Em 2000 foi executado um mural em azulejo e ferro com 170 m de comprimento na estação da CP Sta. Cruz/Damaia e inaugurado pelo Primeiro Ministro António Guterres.
Ainda em 2000 executa outra pintura mural e sacra na capela do Mosteiro, Carmelo de Nª. Sra. Rainha do Mundo em Faro.
Em 2000 a associação Paço de Artes e o jornal A Voz de Paço de Arcos atribui-lhe uma homenagem pela actividade artística desenvolvida no concelho de Oeiras.
Em 2001 executa o mural em mosaicos (Um grande passo para o Homem) com cem metros de cumprimento, situado junto ao cruzamento no Borel na Amadora.
Foi-lhe atribuído pela Câmara Municipal de Oeiras, o Mérito Municipal Grau Prata por actos e serviços praticados de relevo, no âmbito do Município e do País em 2002.
Entre 2002 e 2003 cria e executa mais de 500 telas, um mural e três esculturas para o Solplay Hotel que foi inaugurado pela Presidente da C. Municipal de Oeiras Dra. Teresa Zambujo com a presença do Ministro da Educação David Justino.
Em 2004 foi gravada uma entrevista para o programa “Entre Nós” da Universidade Aberta que foi transmitida no Canal 2 da RTP, no Canal África e Canal Internacional da RTP.
Executa na Damaia em 2005 uma pintura mural com 88 metros quadrados no “Parque Goa” e na Rua Duarte Pacheco Pereira cria “Os Mirones” que são 50 bolas pintadas com expressões diferentes, estando colocados nas zonas relvadas dos jardins numa extensão de 300 m.
Participou em 2006 no programa televisivo “Divercidades” transmitido em directo pela RTP Internacional e retransmitido na RTP África.
Concorreu com três propostas para pintar vacas para a exposição CowParade Lisboa 2006 e todas foram seleccionadas.
Tem sido citado nos mais diversos meios de comunicação social, entre revistas, jornais, rádios e televisões. Tem obras espalhadas em Portugal, França, Itália e EUA em colecções particulares. Está representado no Museu Municipal Armindo Teixeira Lopes (Mirandela) e no Museu do Mar (Cascais).
Já efectuou 18 exposições individuais e participou em 148 colectivas.



Biography
He was born in Lisbon in 1952.
Since always he drew and painted.
He attended a course in the António Arroio School.
During 12 years he worked in graphical arts, without however leaving the plastic arts.
He works in his atelier (Artezen) since 1980.
Up to 1992 he had a great activity in the area of the advertising and the graphical creation (conception of siglas and packings) and in the illustration which it counts on two published book sets of ten.
Since then one has had dedicated exclusively to painting and sculpture. He displays since 1981.
In 1993, he is one of the founders of Grupo Artitude which if extinguished in 1996.
He was part of the jury of IX the National Hall of Cartoon/VI Festival of Oeiras/95 Mood and of 1º Damaia Competition Meeting with its Painters, this in set with Arthur Bual in 1995.
He was member of the ANAP (National Association of Plastic Artists) during six years.
In 1997 he is co-founder of the Arcoartis, Association of Plastic Artists of the Damaia, being president of the same one during eight years, is distinguished as Honorary member in 2005.He started in 1996 and finished in 1999 the Sacras paintings in the church of Nª. Sra. do Cabo de Linda-a-Velha being these, his bigger workmanship and considered the joint greater of Sacra Art in mural painting and the oil on canvas, of century XX in Portugal. They had been inaugurated by the Minister of the Internal Administration, Dr. Jorge Coelho, by the President of the Municipal C. of Oeiras, Dr. Isaltino Morais, by the Bishop Auxiliary of Lisbon, D. Tomás and had been also gifts much other individuality.Between 1999 and 2000 he executes paintings you wall in the church of S. Miguel in Queijas, also paintings of great dimensions, inaugurated by President of the Municipal C. of Oeiras, Dr. Isaltino Morais.In 2000 he was executed a mural in tile and iron with 170 m of length in the station of the CP Sta. Cruz/Damaia and inaugurated by Prime Minister António Guterres.He executes in 2000 another mural painting and sacra in the chapel of the Monastery, Carmelo de Nª. Sra. Rainha do Mundo in Faro. Still in 2000 the association Paço de Artes and the periodical the Voice of Paço de Arcos attributes homage to his development artistic activity in municipality of Oeiras.In 2001 executes a mural in mosaics “A great step for the Men” with 100 m of length, situated next to the crossing of the Borel in the Amadora.Was attributed by the City council of Oeiras, the Municipal Merit Degree Silver for acts and practised relief services, in the scope of the City and the Country in 2002.Between 2002 and 2003 he creates and executes more than 500 canvas, a mural and three sculptures for the Solplay Hotel that was inaugurated by the President of the Municipal C. of Oeiras, Dra. Teresa Zambujo and with the presence of the Minister of the Education, David Justino.In 2004 an interview for the program “Between Us” of the Open University was recorded that was transmitted in Canal 2 of RTP, in Canal Africa and International Canal of RTP.A mural painting with 88 square meters is executed on Damaia in 2005 in “Goa Park” and in the Street Duarte Pacheco Pereira creates “The Voyeurs”, that are 50 balls painted with different expressions, being placed in the green zones of the gardens in a 300 extension of meters.He participated in 2006 in the televising program “Divercidades” on live for the International Channel RTP and relayed in RTP Africa.He concurred with three proposals to paint models of cows for the exposition CowParade Lisbon 2006 and all had been chosen.He has been cited in the most diverse social medias, between magazines, news paper, radios and televisions. He has workmanships spread in Portugal, France, Italy and U.S.A. in private collections. Is represented in the Municipal Museum Armindo Teixeira Lopes (Mirandela) and in the Museum of the Sea (Cascais).He already executed 18 individual expositions and he participated in 148 collective ones.
